The WOW Gift

I've had a few WOW gifts in the last few years. What's a WOW gift? Every time you use, wear, or see this gift, you say, "WOW, what a great gift." or "WOW, how thoughtful." or "WOW, I am so thankful for this gift."
- a pancake griddle I use almost every day
- a toolbox and tools
- a food processor that does more than just process food
- bracelet and earrings
- under-the-counter cd player/radio
- filing cabinet
- Mudshakes
- daily chocolate bars (when prego)
- Durango
Most of my WOW gifts have been "just because" gifts too. I love those. Gifts for no reason, just because they love me. I don't have a WOW gift on my life this year. I don't even have a list! Oh well, I guess that just means I'm content and well-taken care of. I mean I know there are things that I need or want but nothing that I'm dreaming of or that I desperately need. (Except for maybe an undergarment or two! but that'll come)

I received a WOW gift from my sister, who had taken all the articles I had written for a homeschool newsletter and had them made into a book. She surprised me on Christmas with six copies of In Search of Quality Bathroom Time, written by Terri Camp. I cried! That book launched my writing and speaking career. My publisher renamed it, I'm Going to be the Greatest Mom Ever...Even if it Kills Me! It was even in Sam's Clubs around the country! I still say WOW every time I think about what she did for me and my dream that she had wrapped up in a pretty little package.

LaDonna, my dh loves to give presents, and i am not good at picking things out, or even being a gracious recipient... wish i were better at that. But the gifts that mean the most to me, the ones i remind him of at birthdays and Christmasses, and tell him you don't need to buy me a present because... are my children. they're my WOW gifts ;) - my treasures
